Actually mages can't steal HP to a Marksman. Because marksmans spells are Range 0 and castintg time is around 0 to 1 seconds.
For Warlocks casting time is around 2 to 4 seconds. Even if warlock use Arcane Devotion have casting times of 1 second but on range 25.
Anyone knows when a mage is casting (mage's staff start to glow) so you can freeze/dizzy mages really easy.
Also look for Lighting arrow, the most powerful area ranged spell in the game or Proyectile rain, range 0, area 10, and 100% (it means +buffs) and 600
damage.
The marksman is an offensive class, so they should do
damage but they have also very good defence.
What's the difference between the defence of a marksman and the defence of the hunter? 1 Spell (camouflage)
Warlocks have little defence, only 3 range 30 spell and longer castings times. Barbarians don't have range attacks (only 1 range 8).
Also Marksman can Hit+Spell.
About the points, Marksman have enough to Evasion, Aiming mastery and Arrows mastery (that would be my config when I reach 50 I guess), and still have points left to use some Tricks or Long bow as he prefers.
